MINUTES OF THE MEETING IN PORTUGAL
The teachers of the Comenius project « E.U. and I» were present in the meeting in Escola EB 2,3 Rosa Ramalho in Barcelinhos, from the 19th until the 22nd November 2009.
The agenda for the meeting was:
- Presentation of the students, teachers and schools involved.
- Evaluation of the work done until the moment.
- Creation of the common blog and its layout.
- Planning further work and the meetings.
As far as the first point is concerned, all the teachers made presentations of their countries, schools and students using multimedia documents. This part of the meeting had the presence of the two Portuguese classes involved in the project.
In the second point of the agenda, the teachers did all the work planned for this part of the project and explained the difficulties they had in doing it.
Regarding the creation of a common blog, it was decided that each country will have its own blog and Portugal will create a general blog where the links of all the blogs will be pasted. All the subjects of research will be placed there and the children will have to read the information and comment it at least once every three months. The texts and photos will have to be in the blog until the end of April 2010.
Then the teachers talked about the cover for the multimedia dictionary to be done until February. They decided to make a contest with the students who will vote for the best three covers in each country. These covers will be taken to the meeting in February and the students will choose the best one. In the covers there should be the Comenius symbol, the name of the project and the countries and flags.
There will be made a quiz with nine questions for each country. The answers will be in the blog and they must be multiple-choice (three answers). The cards will be A6 size and made by each partner. The answers must be in the back of the card. Each country takes the cards to the meeting in May.
As for the meetings, it was decide that the teachers will take two students to all the meetings. The daters for them will be:
17 to 21 February 2010 –Slovakia
12 to 16th May 2010 – Spain
It was also decided that the meeting to Finland will be in December 2010.
Then the teachers decided the themes to be included in the blog which are:
1. Physical Geography ( landscape, nature, national parks, climate, cities)
2. Tourist Information (general information about services and facilities)
3. Food and Drinks
4. Sports
5. Music
6. Arts
7. Tourist attractions ( monuments)
8. Festivals
9. Folklore and traditions
The teachers took decisions about the multimedia software they are going to use:
The dictionary will be in PowerPoint, the photos must be in Jpeg format, the texts will be written using Times New Roman 12 characters, the music must be recorded in MP3, the voices should be recorded using a program like Audacity or Goldwave and the videos will be in recorded in QuickTime format.
It was also decided that Portugal will make the multimedia dictionary. As for the first year of the project, all the partners will make a Cd with the material (photos, sounds/ videos) and will take it to the meeting in May. Portugal will gather all the information for the multimedia dictionary. The texts will be the same the ones which are in the blog.
After these decisions, the teachers concluded the meeting, and signed this document with the deliberations taken.
